Odewald KMU supports Education Partners in its investment in the Berger Bildungsinstitut
Odewald KMU portfolio company Education Partners invests in Berger Bildungsinstitut GmbH and continues its successful buy-and-build strategy in online continuing education with its eighth acquisition
The portfolio company Education Partners, majority-owned by the Odewald KMU II Fund, acquired Berger Bildungsinstitut GmbH (BBI), headquartered in Kassel, in February 2026. With this transaction, Education Partners consistently continues the strategic expansion of a leading online continuing education platform in the German-speaking region and further strengthens its offering in the industrial-technical segment.
Founded in 2021, BBI operates more than 90 locations across Germany and is among the most dynamically growing providers of professional continuing education in Germany. Its service portfolio primarily comprises online-based programs in SAP, CAD, PLC (SPS), and commercial training. In addition, the company offers retraining and in-person formats. With a strong practical focus, technical specialization, and efficiently structured processes, BBI addresses key qualification needs of the German labor market.
The founder and Managing Director, Max Sachdev, will remain in his current role and, as part of the transaction, will reinvest in Education Partners. Together with Education Partners, he will lead BBI’s next growth phase and actively shape its integration into the group.
Manuel Hinz, CEO of Education Partners, commented:
“With BBI, we are gaining a highly relevant provider in the industrial-technical and commercial segments that strategically complements our portfolio. The combination of digital reach, technical depth, and nationwide presence is an excellent fit with our platform strategy. Together, we aim to further expand BBI’s market position and address additional target groups.”
Max Sachdev, Founder and Managing Director of Berger Bildungsinstitut, added:
“With Education Partners, we have gained an entrepreneurial partner who shares our growth ambitions. Being part of a high-performance platform opens up new opportunities for the further development of our offering, digitalization, and the expansion into new markets.”
In combination with Education Partners, significant synergies are expected: BBI will benefit from a robust technology and systems landscape, centralized marketing and sales structures, and the experience in building new continuing education formats. At the same time, Education Partners will leverage BBI’s expertise in the development and commercialization of technical training programs across the group and further broaden its offering to additional target groups, also with a view to gradual international expansion. The nationwide network of locations enables a flexible combination of online and in-person formats and provides a solid foundation for further organic growth as well as the integration of future acquisitions.
Since Odewald KMU’s investment in Education Partners in September 2021, the group has built central organizational and technology structures, implemented numerous organic growth initiatives, and completed eight strategic add-on acquisitions. Today, Education Partners is already among the leading online continuing education providers in the DACH region, employing around 200 professionals across Berlin, Lippstadt, Munich, Vienna, Lucerne, and Kassel.
