Odewald KMU participates in the AMT Schmid GmbH and Co. KG

Schmid GmbH & Co. KG is a family-owned company that develops and produces industry- and customer-specific drive solutions with a focus on battery-powered applications for almost 40 years. AMT is global market leader in its segment. As a reliable partner to its customers, that are major international manufacturers of mobility solutions for elderly and disabled people, AMT supplies an optimal drive solution from a single source. The high level of vertical integration at AMT as well as the modular product portfolio enable consistent quality assurance and guarantee a high degree of flexibility. Based on these principles, AMT achieves high customer satisfaction and manages to remain competitive against Asian competitors. The company currently employs 150 people, all of them based at the company’s headquarter in Sauldorf, Baden-Wuerttemberg.

To support and accelerate future company growth, the managing shareholder entered a partnership with Odewald KMU. Alongside the majority stake of Odewald KMU, the managing shareholder re-invested significantly and continues leading the company in the future. The common goal is to continue the AMT growth story by keeping the rate of innovation at a constantly high level and by extending presence on the international markets. In order to meet the set growth objectives, AMT will expand current production capacities at the headquarter in Sauldorf. Both parties have agreed to keep the details of the transaction confidential.
