Odewald KMU II invests in Karl Schmidt GmbH
Karl Schmidt GmbH of Preußisch Oldendorf operates a fourth-generation branch bakery. With over 400 employees and more than 50 branches, the family-owned company is the regional market leader in the north-east of North Rhine-Westphalia. The basis for the company’s success is the particularly high-quality bread and bakery products, made possible by high raw material standards, innovative production processes and an efficient value-added chain, together with attractive locations.
In order to support further growth and to establish a successor solution, the managing partner, Mr. Karsten Schmidt, has entered into a partnership with the investment company Odewald KMU of Berlin, which specialises in high-growth small and medium-sized companies. To this end, Odewald KMU has invested in a majority stake in Karl Schmidt GmbH. Mr. Karsten Schmidt still holds a significant stake in the business and will continue to lead the company in the future. The joint goal of the shareholders is to continue to grow successfully in the coming years, particularly by opening new attractive locations. The parties have agreed not to disclose the amount of the investment and other details of the holding.
