Odewald KMU II invests in ARTUS

ARTUS is a leading regional player in the sanitation and refurbishment business for water, fire, other elemental and secondary damages. The company is headquartered in Langenhangen (near Hanover) and present throughout the northern region of Germany with a network of seven branches. Founded in 2012, the company currently employs around 100 people.

ARTUS enjoys an excellent reputation in the market as a one-stop-shop solutions provider offering its customers comprehensive sanitation and restoration services along the value chain including damage assessment, first measures, drying, cleaning and complete refurbishment. The company is known for high quality services, short reaction times and timely completion of projects, all of which are key purchasing criteria in the industry. By combining modern equipment, project management expertise and experienced project leaders and own employees with an extensive network of external craftsmen, ARTUS is able to maintain a lean operational and cost structure while at the same time ensuring sufficient capacities and expertise to handle even large-scale projects in a professional and swift manner. In practice, ARTUS employees focus on specialised tasks around cleaning and drying of damaged property while subcontractors are usually engaged subsequently in the refurbishment work. Customers of ARTUS mainly include insurance companies which act on behalf of the aggrieved parties. Additional revenues are generated through framework contracts with insurers, building management companies, public clients as well as private and commercial customers.

To further support and accelerate future growth, the founding shareholders Mr. Josef Boelle and Mr. Hendrik Poppinga entered a partnership with Odewald KMU, a Berlin-based private equity firm focussing on profitable SMEs with strong growth potential. In the course of the transaction, Odewald KMU has acquired a majority stake in ARTUS, while the founders have re-invested significantly in the company and thus will further participate in the companys growth. Mr. Boelle will continue to lead the company as managing director in the future. The common goal is to significantly expand the regional presence of ARTUS by combining organic growth incentives with targeted add-on acquisitions. Both parties have agreed to keep the details of the transaction confidential.
