Odewald KMU supports Education partners in investing in Developer Akademie
In June 2024, Education partners, majority-owned by the Odewald KMU II Fund, acquired Developer Akademie, based in Munich, one of the largest and fastest-growing IT academies in the DACH region. As a TÜV-certified online education provider, the company offers education in frontend and backend development as well as cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure with a high level of practical relevance and intensive support from experienced developers. The company thus trains the IT specialists needed by the DACH region for its digital transformation.
The two founders, Manuel Thaler and Junus Ergin, have reinvested at the level of Education partners and will be responsible for the IT/Software cluster within the group.
This strategic step enables Education partners to expand its market share as a leading provider of online education and to enter with this sixth acquisition a new, very attractive thematic area.
Since the investment of Odewald KMU in Education partners in September 2021, a total of six acquisitions have been implemented in addition to establishing the succession, developing organizational structures, and introducing numerous organic growth initiatives. As a result, Education partners is already one of the leading online education providers in the DACH region, with thematic focus on pedagogy, business, IT/software, health, and pets, with around 100 employees at locations in Lippstadt, Berlin, Munich, and Vienna. Revenue is expected to increase more than fivefold, from around EUR 6 million in 2020 to over EUR 30 million in 2024.
