Odewald KMU acquires a majority stake in the Softdoor Group

Odewald KMU III has acquired a majority stake in the social health service provider Softdoor, Mannheim. Softdoor is a leading provider in the social impact sector in Germany for the (re)integration of people with multiple barriers to employment, such as mental and physical illnesses. The range of services includes feasibility analyses and coaching measures to facilitate re-entry into the labour market. Supported by a comprehensive network of specialists consisting of doctors, psychologists and social workers, Softdoor currently provides its services directly to the relevant target groups at more than 100 locations in Germany and has established itself as a quality leader and reliable partner of the labour administration. Last year, over 18,000 participants were actively supported in Softdoor's programmes.

The two founders, Andreas Heck and Markus Hertrich, as well as the new CFO Claus Niedworok, have made a significant investment in the company and will manage the Softdoor Group together in future.

This strategic step will enable Softdoor to continue its strong growth trajectory by opening new locations and expanding its range of services for current and new target groups. Furthermore, the aim of this partnership is to use the Softdoor Group as a nucleus for a buy-and-build strategy in order to consistently realise existing market opportunities in the current market segments, but also in adjacent areas. The B2B service offering is also to be developed further in order to further tap into corporate customers' demand for health-related support for employees. As with every investment by Odewald KMU, the further professionalisation of the company's internal processes and structures and thus the successful transformation from a founder-led to a manager-led organisation is also on the agenda of the partnership with Softdoor.
